What is xine?
xine is a free multimedia player. It plays back CDs, DVDs, and VCDs. It also decodes multimedia files like AVI, MOV, WMV, and MP3 from local disk drives, and displays multimedia streamed over the Internet. It interprets many of the most common multimedia formats available – and some of the most uncommon formats, too.

Release
xine-lib 1.2.0 -
A new version of xine-lib is available. Two releases in one day…! This has to be cause for celebration‼ Or something.
Significant features: VDPAU support, VDR support, following the XDG Base Directory Specification, reduced memory usage, and no internal copies of ffmpeg, libcdio or libvcd.
I can't be bothered with waffle, so go and read the release notes or download it and play with it. You'll need to recompile your front end to use this if you've previously been using 1.1 (not 1.1.90).
Please check the release notes for details & known problems.

Release
xine-lib 1.1.20 -
A new version of xine-lib is available. (Okay, we know, somewhat overdue. You can stop cheering now.)
This release supports rv30, rv40, VP8 and (with new-enough ffmpeg) AAC LATM. It allows use of GraphicsMagick instead of ImageMagick, should work better with PulseAudio, contains various MinGW fixes (and a port to w64), and has various minor fixes and improvements, most notably for MPEG TS.
Please check the release notes for details & known problems.

Release
gxine 0.5.906 -
A new version of gxine is available. This release is mostly a maintenance release: mostly bug fixes, with a few new UI bits: gamma, sharpness and noise reduction controls may be available. The most significant of the bug fixes are regarding full-screen mode with multi-head setups: focus grabbing now isn't done at all, and the video area is correctly sized. (Both problems only showed up if gxine was built without Xinerama support.)
